Eagle Rare takes its lofty name seriously: a bourbon made in the spirit of the American eagle — wise, courageous and beautiful. Every barrel is aged for no less than ten years and discriminately selected, so that the whiskey holds a consistent character while each bottling keeps a personality that seems entirely its own.
The marque has been produced at the historic Buffalo Trace Distillery since 1989, where it was refined into the smoother ten-year expression that made its reputation. It remains the only bourbon ever to win the double gold medal five times at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
In recent years the eagle has flown higher still. From the distillery's experimental Warehouse P have come the ultra-aged 25 and 30 year expressions — the oldest age-stated bourbons Buffalo Trace has ever released — alongside the sculpted crystal of Double Eagle Very Rare. Few marques stretch from a collector's first bourbon to the summit of American whiskey; this one does.
