The Last Drop Distillers was founded in 2008 by Tom Jago and James Espey — two spirits men with more than eighty years of experience between them — on a simple pursuit: to travel the world in search of the rarest and most remarkable spirits ever made, and to present them, untouched, to those who understand them.

The house has no fixed style, only a standard. In nearly two decades it has issued around forty numbered releases — Scotch and Japanese whisky, cognac, bourbon, rum, tequila, aged ports — amounting to fewer than sixteen thousand bottles in total. Each release is bottled in vanishingly small number, individually numbered, and chosen only because the cask gave something singular.

The founding families have since stepped back, and the search is now carried by The Assembly — a collective of master distillers, blenders and cellar masters drawn from across the world of fine spirits, from Kentucky to Cognac to the Jalisco Highlands. The number on each bottle continues their count.
